Hi what are the 4 snap buttons for? Is it supposed to come with an external snap on compartment?

Hi! I think they are just for aesthetics. You can snap them into each other and create a little fold/lip at the bottom of the bag but it not come with any other compartments. They are on both sides. Lmk if you have any other questions
