The car was launched at the 1967 London Motor Show as a replacement for the Austin-Healey 3000. It was based on the MGB and had a 2,912 cc, straight-six engine shared with the Austin 3 Litre. The MGC had a top speed of 118–120 mph, could go from 0–60 mph in 10 seconds, and got 19.3 miles per gallon
