I am, however, the reigning queen of last-minute Halloween magic powered by caffeine, a glue gun, and sheer panic. This lovingly chaotic baby deer costume was handmade for my kid, who wore it once for Halloween — and it was a hit. Is it a masterpiece of tailoring? No. Is it hanging on by a few threads and maybe some dried glue? Possibly. Will it make your kid look like the most precious little fawn in the neighborhood? Absolutely. Will anyone else have this costume? Definitely not.  Pants are size 6 with a dramatic, fluffy tail and hand painted spots. The hat has little antlers I made with aluminum foil, masking tape and paint and ears I assembled by sacrificing a couple of stuffed animals and dredging their skins through a hot glue gun. It ties at the bottom.
