This is a gorgeous vintage brooch with incredible sparkle. It's art deco revival in style, but was made in the 1980s. Crafted in a radiant flower or orchid design, with attached streamers, covered in white or clear faux diamonds (Swarovski crystals). It's accented with blue round-cut faux sapphires (dyed cubic zirconia). The streamers are attached on a hinge, so they can move; when worn, the movement gives you extra sparkle and brilliance as you walk. It would look amazing with a basic black dress or blazer, or to jazz up a coat. It's set in 18k gold electroplate (yellow gold in color), and it has the dolphin-shaped logo of Dolphin Ore on the back. The brooch measures 2.3" by 1.25". It's a substantial, well-made piece, weighing 12g. Dolphin Ore was a maker of high-end costume jewelry in the 1980s and 1990s; it was known for its high-quality, gold-plated, nickel-free jewelry. This piece is new old stock (NOS), meaning it’s vintage but has never been worn, retaining its original luster and condition.
