Michael Novarese Couture Black & Gold Floral Dress (RARE & Vintage)

An authentic, rare and vintage dress designed by Michael Novarese and is currently categorized as vintage fashion couture. A beautifully crafted, black base brocade dress with gold foil, embroidered florals throughout the front and the rear. It features a crew neckline, a slightly-cinched waist, a silk interior lining and a full rear zipper starting at the neckline and going down past the hip line. There are two fabric covered button closures at the bottom end to conceal the zipper. The bottom end of the dress is encircled with a double ring of black ribbon. This is a vintage and understated timeless piece of fashion, with its retro appeal, but with a modern vision. Circa late 1950- 1960’s. No interior tags of any kind (other than Michael Novarese brand tag) however, I would guesstimate this to be a medium. Measurements are in listing photos. He designed dresses for Judy Garland; Liza Minelli; Dolores Hope; and many of the Ambassadors wives during the Regan administration. After retiring from fashion, Novarese was elected on the advisory board at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.
