Paperback, 320 pages, published 2003. Absolutely packed with lovely illustrations. Roughly 4-1/2 by 6-1/2 inches, and about one inch thick.
Great used condition with one cosmetic flaw: a rip on the back cover that has been repaired with clear tape (see all photos). Aside from that, this copy is in excellent shape. The binding is solid and all pages are intact. No writing or highlights.
"Dinosaurs were an extraordinarily varied and complex group of animals that roamed the Earth during the Mesozoic era. Their fossilized remains include teeth, bones, and footprints that provide vital clues to their appearance, the food they ate, and how they lived. This book discusses how scientists interpret the clues that dinosaurs have left us. The text features facts and figures on classification and identification, illuminating the world of these astounding animals."
As for me, I find paleontology amazing. 🦖☺️ The study of fossils reminds us of what has come and gone, in vast-reaching and long-lasting ways, and so helps us understand what we must cherish. The fleetingness of our ideas and our joys, the biological beauty of this one miraculous and isolated planet, and the reasons we must fight against ignorance, always. Modern humans have been stumbling around this joint less than 200 thousand years, whereas dinosaurs were the dominant vertebrates for about 200 million years. Thinking about such things always helps me put my own personal struggles into perspective. 💖
