This lovely 2.40 carat mystery parcel contains 4 gorgeous, deeply colored untreated tourmalines. These beautiful gemstones were part of a mystery lot. While confirmed that they are tourmaline, their origin is unknown. I do believe the smaller, aqua one might actually be a Paraiba, but will not know for sure until further testing. In the meantime, as usual, I'm listing at a steep discount until I have the time and funds to send these beautiful gems off for testing! For example many are pleochroistic, meaning when viewed from different angles they can appear very different and may even showcase a separate set of hues! The last Empress of the Chi’ing Dynasty of China loved tourmaline so much she bought enormous quantities of it from USA; mostly of the pink variety. After her death, her body was rested on a tourmaline pillow as a symbol of her eternal love for this gem.
