Vintage 60's Fashions by Margolin Carpet Tapestry Handbag Floral Multi-Colored

Vintage 60's-70's Fashions by Margolin carpet / tapestry handbag with a beautiful floral pattern of red, green, yellow and blue offset by a white background. Gold tone hardware including a clasp closure to open the middle compartment. Inside features a zipped pocket with the label "Fashions by Margolin". On either side of the middle compartment is an open pocket. Gold toned studs on the bottom. H. Margolin & Co began in the 1920's and was the company behind the brand "Fashions by Margolin". They began making high quality leather and suede bags through the 1950's and then expanded to making tapestry or carpet bags in the 1960's and 1970's. These bags aligned with the "Boho Mod" aesthetic which was popular at that time. Pre-owned in good vintage condition. There is discoloration on one side where it appears the red fabric bled into the white fabric creating pink hues around a few of the red flowers. There is one spot on one handle that has some slight discoloration, see photos. This handbag still presents beautifully and would be a wonderful addition to any vintage collection.
