A mid-century Schiaparelli treasure in soft, creamy off-white cashmere, lined w/ pearlescent buttons & finished w/ a wide ribbed hem & cuffs for that cinched, silhouette so prized in the 1950s. The intricate embellishment across the chest steals the scene — a swirling, nature-inspired motif resembling unfurling leaves or frost patterns, composed of coiled metallic thread, baguette beads, & rhinestones.
This technique — a form of metal couching embroidery — anchors metal cord to the knit surface using fine stitches, often paired w/ riveted backing for dimensional shimmer. Schiaparelli’s knitwear from this era frequently featured such couture-level embroidery. A testament to the Parisian born maison’s knack for merging jewelry-like ornamentation with wearable knit.
