Japan Nishijin -Ori, mid century 1950-1980 decorative woven silk brocade-was popular in Kyoto, made for export and fine gifts-matted and framed.
Depicting Heian Era (794-1185) court procession scene, usually reproduction of historical imperial processions including court nobels, samurai, Gaisha 4 horses, while the lady of the house standing on the left. Her house made protecting her from the sun with a large umbrella , waiting to be carried away on a palanquin
Interlacing Silk thread woven with metallic gold threads-made as an obi ( kimono.belt) procession
Size of embroidered piece approximately 7” x 6”
Size of frame approximately 11.5” x 10.5” x 1”
General good condition, minor marks on frame.
