bee_38 @realtexasliving Hi! :) A pencil board is a thicker plastic sheet that is intended to be placed behind the sheet of paper you're writing on to give it more stability. This planner comes with one that corresponds to the artwork on the cover. There's also a small tab on the top of the board that says 'today'. I always use mine as a bookmark and place small sticky notes on it for quick reminders. Hope this helps! :)
