It is a round covered dish for keeping pancakes or crepes warm, with a vented lid that is designed to let steam escape. These servers are prized for their decorative, often floral, designs and are available in various patterns. This particular piece features an intricate Schleiger floral pattern with delicate, small pink flowers and green leaves on a creamy white base. The scalloped rim has a raised, beaded pattern, and the handles are trimmed with gold. The finial atop the lid is in the form of a bow and is also trimmed with gold. The backstamp dates the piece to 1903. Your guests are sure to be impressed by the unique character and beauty of this antique pancake server.
