Geiger of Austria beautiful boiled wool jacket. Thick and soft, this is perfect for the holiday season. Embroidered edges, quality metal buttons, pockets. Excellent condition. Please note that one button has been previously reattached (please see photos). Cover photo depicts jacket paired with a Patagonia button-down, style #54962SP16–also available in my closet! According to the Vintage Fashion Guild, “Geiger Tyrol is a traditional Austrian clothing maker, started in 1906 by Barbara Geiger. She adapted traditional Tyrolean knit patterns and, using wool acquired locally from farmers, started a cottage industry. By the 1950s, the company was well established and was chosen to outfit the Austrian ski team in 1954. The development for which Geiger is best known, the Tyrolean Walk Jacket, came about in 1957. Before that time, walk jackets were knit two sizes too large, and then boiled to shrink the jacket to a proper fit. Geiger developed a boiled wool fabric that could be boiled first, then cut out in the correct size. Today, Geiger is still a family-owned and family-run business, with the fourth generation of Geigers at the helm.” (Fuzzylizzie, https://vintagefashionguild.org/resources/item/label/geiger/#:~:text=from%20a%201990s%20boiled%20wool,Courtesy%20of%20fuzzylizzie.com)

alderess7113 @rachel_evelyn Hi! EU size 40 is supposedly equivalent to an 8. I would say it’s a Large. It is roomy, and I do have the measurements listed. Do you have any measurements you like me to take?
