megamill10@taylormurphy113 Hi there excellent observation I would say it more Khaki. definitely not green, not beige not cream. but it has green undertones.. so hard to say bc colors R so objective. No belt. I just looked at it a couple more times to b sure I say its more khaki. did you see my beige coat from Banana republic that one has a belt, is beige and all wool n brand new. Idk if its ur style but soft warm n a classic.

megamill10@taylormurphy113 but longer then this one n doesn't have genuine fur. This one is vintage which I love. the fur lining inside is sheared rabbit the collar is fox fur which u can remove. the intricate details from the cuffs shoulder blade, inverted buttons. this is why I love vintage lol. they don't make coats like these anymore n if they do they are millions of dollars n faux fur n the quality is not good.

I prefer you ask questions so u know exactly what u r receiving without any surprises. I did take the outside of the coat to the cleaners. so its ready too go. Take ur time there is no rush or pressure whatever u decide as long as u r happy with ur purchase thats what matters. cheers

I am going to think about it, I am looking for a vintage saks fifth avenue fur lined coat much like this one but would love it to have a belt :( my sister just got one and I love it so that is why I know exactly what I want but of course it’s vintage so hard to find now haha but I will definitely think about this one, thank you!

taylormurphy113Is this a size 8 or 12? The tag says 8 - I wear an xxs/xs but I k ow vintage sizing runs smaller… would this be way too big??

megamill10@taylormurphy113 hi there. Always go by measurements Never go by any size they but on a tag. In the garment world there is a standard called "grading". The grading is Small medium large. meaning depending on measurements they they grade what category SML the garment goes into......

megamill10@taylormurphy113 . thats why I always put measurements in all my post and or ask for pacific measurements and explain to the seller how I want something measured. So what u hav to do is buy a measuring tape 4 a few bucks n measure urself so u understand ur body n how things fit on u. if u don't no how to do it just let me know n ill walk u through it. or you can go on u tube.

taylormurphy113@megamill10 I know my measurements are (bust/waist/hips) 31,24-25, 33… I’m 5’3 and 98 pounds… I do like my coats longer like mid calf or longer even is fine so I’m not worried about the length but worried about the body and shoulders of the coat being too big on me especially with fur underneath… I still want it to look feminine so I wanted a belt to tie behind the back (leaving the coat open) but cinching the waist in… I was thinking I could have a belt and belt loops made and added to this…

megamill10@taylormurphy113 untill I know your measurements i can not say if this will fit u. in vintage ages a size 8 was a size 2 4 bc back then the standard of grading was different. so although it say a 8 10 12 means its much small bc 20 30 50 yrs ago men n women were tiny n industries standards has changed.

megamill10@taylormurphy113 Hi there, thank you for the measurements the coat will be bulky on you based on the measurements given. The lining can be removed but even that the coat will hang on you based on frame and height.

I no u like the style so you should look for something a little more tailored. meaning: cinched from armpit down to waist, then waist down more A-line or slightly pleated. where u can wear the coat with a belt n the coat is more formed fitting or wear it open n the coat does not drown out your silhouette.

megamill10@taylormurphy113 start lookin for vintage 50's or 60' fur lined coats with belts. but always ask for the measurements if they don't post them. hope u find ur dream coat which I think u will. side bar, do not let the belt be the factor of not getting the coat.

megamill10@taylormurphy113 Any belt from ur wardrobe especially if its leather an n wide. any dry cleaner can but loops on a belt. especially if you love the coat. make it ur own. The lining make sure its detachable so u can have the max wear in winter n spring. hope this helps

I’m looking like crazy 😅 I think you’re right, ideally I’d want a 4-6, I was hoping if I had a belt added to this I could wear it open with the belt tied in a bow behind me to cinch in the waist a bit… I wear all my coats open, tied in the back but they’re all modern sizing wool coats

megamill10@taylormurphy113 i do have a coat that I know will giv u the look u want but its a white 100% wool with removal fox fur collar and cuffs. the body width the measurements n how u wear it open will be perfect but it is not the the color, not from saks n no raincoat exterior n fur lining. later I will post one pic jus to show u.
