Rare, Vintage Richard Tyler Black “Tuxedo” Blazer, Size 44 / US Size 10

The jacket boasts a shiny, tuxedo-style silk lapel with beautiful top stitching along with the same accent stripe on the pockets.
 This blazer from Richard Tyler Collection has a classic tuxedo/silk shawl collar styling with wide, shiny black silk lapels that extend all the way down the front edges in a continuous shawl-collar silhouette. Single-breasted closure with a small concealed button at the waist level. Small triangular pocket hides the button inside. Cuffs have slits. Very cool. This jacket has a very clean, minimalist look when worn open or closed. Two side pockets with silk welts (the small rectangular flaps on the pockets are also satin). Structured shoulders with light padding for a sharp, tailored silhouette. Slightly nipped waist and longer length (hits around low hip on most wearers). An inner band of the lining affords a tighter fit across the back. See photo. Fabric:

 Color is a rich, deep black with excellent contrast between the matte body fabric and the glossy silk trim. Style-wise, this is a formal evening blazer meant to be worn as a tuxedo alternative – very glamorous, red-carpet appropriate, and characteristic of Richard Tyler's late-1990s/early-2000s aesthetic when he was dressing Hollywood stars. 
It's elegant when worn open over evening gowns or closed with matching satin-trimmed trousers for a full women's tuxedo look. Made in Italy.
