The story follows Charlie and four other children—Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, and Mike Teavee—as they go on a wild adventure through the factory, where each of the other children meets a comical and often painful end due to their bad behavior. Ultimately, Charlie's good nature wins him the factory as Wonka's successor.
“Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator” is a 1972 children's book by Roald Dahl, serving as the sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The story follows Charlie Bucket, Willy Wonka, and the Bucket family as their glass elevator accidentally travels into space, where they encounter the terrifying Vermicious Knids and visit the world's first space hotel. The adventure culminates in a return to Earth, where they are invited to the White House.
