'On the Border' is the third studio album by the American rock band Eagles, first released on March 22, 1974. It is the first Eagles album to feature guitarist Don Felder. The three singles from the album all made it onto the US Billboard Hot 100 chart: Starting with 'Already Gone', which reached #32, 'James Dean' peaked at #77 and 'Best of My Love' became the bands' first #1. The album also contains a cover version of fellow Asylum recording artist and writer Tom Waits' "Ol’ ’55," a fan favorite which received substantial FM airplay and continues to receive active rotation on classic rock radio and streaming platform playlists.
'On the Border' became the band's most successful of the three released to that point. It debuted at #50 on the US Billboard 200 chart in the first week of its release, peaking at #17 by week six.
