Antique Goofus Glass Plate

Type: Goofus Glass plate or platter. Pattern: Often identified as the "Intaglio Line (OMN) Strawberry" pattern, notably made by the Dugan Glass Company around 1915. Description: The plate features a clear, pressed glass base with a ruffled or scalloped edge. The strawberry and leaf design is painted on the back of the glass with gold and red accents, which is characteristic of Goofus Glass. The paint is often found with some voids or scratches, as it was applied cold and can chip easily over time. Usage: The paint is on the bottom of the plate, making the top surface food-safe for serving. Pieces like this were also used for decoration or as calling card plates in the early 20th century.
