It’s a soft cotton that looks like denim, but it’s too thin and polished to be denim. It has a zip closure in the back. The empire seam has dozens of tiny pleats going all the way around the top to make the bottom half extra full and dramatic, and the sleeves also have dozens of tiny pleats along the shoulder seam. They’re extra full and dramatic as well, with hidden elastic in the cuffs, and they’re lined in red fabric, so they stay extra poufy. The red appliqué on the front is birds and flowers, embroidered in red. It’s a statement piece, and it’s cute in the spring and summer with white jeans, and in the fall with deep colors.
