Jugtown Pottery Charles Moore Trivet Tile Signed 1988

Definitely one of the red headed stepchildren of authentic American art pottery, Jugtown has represented the "folk pottery into art" since the Busbee era beginning in 1917. Charles Moore was one of the most significant contributors of the early Owens era which started in 1983. This beautifully glazed stoneware trivet tile is fully marked and signed by the artist. A spectacular find for the hardcore Seagrove collector and an opportunity to put a piece of modern Jugtown Ware on the shelf for the art pottery crowd. I have seen pieces from the 90s, but not one this early. This tile is 7 inches across. Very fine vintage condition, no chips.
