Estate 14K Solid Gold Brutalist Abstract Sculptural Web Drip 2.6" MCM Earrings Estate Museum quality Mid Century 1970's True Brutalist earring in solid 14K yellow gold. Brutalist works are more often found in Sterling and rarely seen in solid gold. These are more than likely OOAk and artisan made from the period. There is a contrast of the 14K yellow gold where the artist left darkened patina to create incredible contrast. The earrings are a melted nugget asymmetrical design with a vertical length structural abstract web tower. They are unique, organic free form shape, with uneven surfaces and a craggy texture that have a length of 2.6" (including bale). Truly this is a fine example of the Brutalist movement with a creation of a raw and exposed aesthetic into wearable art. Could not find an artist stamp or signature but this closely resembles the style of Robert Larin. 5.2 grams total weight They are marked “14k” on the posts and on the butterfly backings. In good pre-owned condition with darkened patina.
