This kitschy cute bee brooch is from the Monet Spinneret collection. Super cute for spring on a sweater or lapel -- the white enamel makes it pop. The perfect size for clustering with other fun pins.
These figural brooches with wire-wrapped elements, were introduced in 1961 in all-gold finishes. According to the Monet reference book by Alice Vega, the most popular varieties, like the bee and the butterfly, were made in white enamel from the early 1970s and into the 80s. The bee was produced in several sizes and with several body variations.
