Handmade Tooled Leather Fringe Bag

Circa 1970 (educated guess) freshly restored hand tooled leather fringe bag makes its debut at 57 years young in Cayman Islands Jan 2026. Restored, reimagined and ready to take on another 100 years. This is the first bag that I completely pulled apart and reconstructed with the tools/knowledge that I have gained in the last 2 years of working with leather. The restoration includes; ~ All original pieces were cleaned, polished and protected. ~ The bag's back and flap closure was stabilized with a new piece of leather and then saddle stitched together. ~ Lacing the pieces back together, bringing them flush instead of overlapping, increased the bag size. I will use the proportions here to base my very own first design on. ~ Brand new 1 3/4" hand tooled adjustable strap with brass hardware, makes an easy cary on the shoulder or crossbody position. ~ 12" fringe through the gusset in the same weight leather as the bag, not only makes it completely unique but has also proven to be the perfect choice for the ultimate fringe bag that will stand the test of time. ~ Glass Murano style beads through the fringe repeat the flower design. ~ Modernized magnetic snap closure. 8.5" x 10" at its widest point x 4" gusset through bottom x 2.5" at the bag's handle. This is leaning towards the everyday carry size. It will fit a medium sized large wallet, medium small makeup bag, glasses case, phone and keys comfortably.
