Vintage german dress/house dress size M

Vintage german dress/house dress, size M. This was a gift from my sister-in-law. She said they wear them over their clothes like an apron. But if it fit me, I'd wear it as a tunic or dress. Armpit to armpit (buttoned) is approx 19". Length (from the shoulder seam) is approx 32.6". This is a shorter length than the other one I have listed so it might be a better tunic if you are taller. Great vintage condition with a couple of flaws that I don't think affect wearability. Some of the stitching at the bottom of the pocket has come undone. There is a small tear in the fabric underneath the size tag but it on an extra piece of piece of fabric under the tag and not on the actual dress. Some of the stitches have come undone in the armpit of the left side. Please review photos to see exactly what they look like. The size tag says 42. Google says that is similar to a size 10/12 but I think vintage size 10/12 is a little smaller than todays' size 10/12. I'm listing this as a size M but please review measurments for fit. The tag says "nylon".
