Is that a 36" waist without stretch? I like the waist to be very taunt, not loose. I probably should look at a 1x??

Hello! Sorry for the late response. This skirt has an elastic waist, so I would say that it's more on the loose side. I would also say that it has a lot of stretch to it. Hope that helps!
