The Backstage Restaurant operated inside the Union Plaza Hotel & Casino at Number One Main Street in downtown Las Vegas, a property that opened in 1971 on the site of the old railroad station. The Plaza became a landmark of Fremont Street, known for its massive hotel tower and its role as a transportation hub with the Greyhound bus station built into the structure. The Backstage Restaurant served guests and casino visitors through the property’s busiest decades before the hotel later rebranded as the Plaza Hotel & Casino, which still operates today. This matchbook cover features a brick-wall design with bold signage and the Union Plaza logo on the reverse, typical of promotional pieces from the classic Fremont Street era.
