Authentic 1961 women's vintage shearling coat by Knight Thors, made under their Craftsman Guarantee line and crafted in New Zealand, a country internationally known for premium sheepskin and wool production. Constructed from genuine sheepskin shearling with a suede exterior and thick natural wool interior. Features include a wide shearling collar, paneled mid-century tailoring, leather loop button closures, and original leather-covered buttons. Interior retains original labels, including size tag and Woolmark label. A true early-1960s cold-weather luxury coat with substantial weight, warmth, and durability. Condition Notes Very good vintage condition for age (64 years), with honest wear consistent with use: Light wear to leather-covered buttons Small area of thinning/bald spot to shearling interior Scattered marks/stains to suede exterior (see photos) No holes, no major tears, no cracking or dry rot Structurally sound and very warm Item has not been professionally cleaned; buyer may choose preferred cleaning method. Measurements (laid flat) Pit to pit: 18.5" Length (shoulder/collar seam to hem): 31" Tagged size: Women's 12 Details Era: 1961 Brand: Knight Thors Material: Genuine sheepskin shearling Color: Brown / tan Closure: Button front with leather loop closures Style: Mid-century shearling / ranch / cold-weather coat New Zealand–made shearling is highly regarded for fleece density and longevity, making this an especially desirable example.
