The Hummel "Latest News" (HUM 184), sometimes referred to in variations as "Panama - American" or featuring a "Panama" hat, is a classic Goebel porcelain figurine designed by Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel, typically produced in the 1950s-1960s. These hand-painted, German-made figures are identified by the Hummel signature, mold number (184), and Goebel trademark (TMK) stamps on the base. Excellent condition

@ababychicken the condition of this figurine looks like it is either very dirty (tobacco smoke?!) or has been (badly) restained compared to a friends figurine. Can you advise. Am interested but if there has been alterations/lack of cleaning would have to really re-think an offer to make. Thank you

Hi! I quickly took a little soap and water to some of the darker areas and it cleaned up nicely. This came from my mother in laws house so it’s been sitting in dust for quite some time. I added a video to show the area that are clean. With some additional cleaning it will look much better! It appears that the front of the base( in white) may have discolored from age.
