Seller has mistakenly listed this as “Occupied Japan”, even though the pictures of the stamp on the underside clearly show that it was NOT made in Occupied Japan.

@bluetsue Items produced in Japan between September 1945 and April 1952 do not exclusively have to be labeled "Occupied Japan" to be from that era. While the directive instructed manufacturers to use "Made in Occupied Japan" or "Occupied Japan" in black or red ink, items from this period may simply say "Japan" or "Made in Japan," or be unmarked.

@bluetsue occupied Japan is not a place, it’s an era. And yes, it is occupied Japan era; just as js most of my collection. You said “NOT” “IN” occupied Japan… your argument should be, not during occupied Japan. So please, you “clearly” are not as educated as you may think you are in this area of expertise.

Most pieces just marked "Japan" or "Made in Japan" are generally considered post-1952 or pre-war. Authentic Occupied Japan ceramics are items manufactured between 1945 and 1952 during the post-WWII Allied occupation, explicitly marked "Made in Occupied Japan" or "Occupied Japan" for export. Authentic pieces are identified by this specific stamp.
