Vintage Hand Painted Large (9”) Ceramic Bowl by Shard Pottery

This is a beautiful medium-sized Shard brand hand painted 9” diameter bowl. The finish of the bowl is very glossy which makes this one show stopper (for a while it made me feel like Nara Smith - and then I remembered these bills have to get paid!) Shard Pottery, established in the mid-20th century, became known for its vibrant, hand-painted designs and high-quality craftsmanship. The pieces often feature abstract patterns, stylized motifs, or mid-century modern influences. The exterior of this bowl features a beautiful blue abstract blue sponge painting. The interior features beautiful paintings of pears, apples, berries and other fruits on a cream background. The bowl is in great condition with one small chip on the lip of the bowl (see pictures). Dimensions: 4” tall x 9" diameter.
