Fantastic and full of character, this French Company Speedy 30 is so special! The canvas is in beautiful condition. Vachetta is a rich Carmel color. Handles have darkened with use, but are in great shape. Hardware has tarnished, and shows its history, but works well. The piping, while having some scuffs, is solid, with no splitting/ cracking. Interior is clean and fresh, with no flaws to mention. The leather where the handles attached to the bag is starting to demonstrate some splitting (picture #14-16), but is still sturdy with no threat of coming apart. Stitching throughout is near perfect. I have loved this bag so much, (French company LV is some of my favorite) but I think it’s time to rehome it to someone who will carry it more often. Bag has been babied, stuffed, and kept a generic dust bag out of the light.

@s_monestime Hi Shelly, thanks for your inquiry! This is a French Company LV Speedy bag, produced between 1976 and 1991, did not have date codes, but rather had the French company special tag sewn inside as you can see in the pictures! I imagine this bag was produced somewhere between late 1980s to early 1990– but I don’t know the exact date. French company bags are collectible now, and of course, have held up because of their great construction!

@s_monestime here’s some more French Company history info from a good article…
History of The French Company Louis Vuitton’s worldwide popularity grew even more rapidly in the 1970s in the United States. Until this time, their factories had always been in France… but Louis Vuitton simply couldn’t keep up with its growing market in the US. For this reason, in the 1970s Louis Vuitton developed a relationship with a US Luggage Maker. The French Luggage Company.
