Wonderful pair of Westmoreland Glass Company Milk Glass "Chick" Egg Cups. Great way to start your day by having hard-boiled eggs while using these egg holders. They would add to a Farm, Rustic, Shabby Chic, or French Country decor!
They are made of all milk glass and hand-painted red with each chick's eyes, beak, feet, and tail. The Cups are in very good preloved condition with no major cracks or repairs. Each Chick’s beak has a small chip on the end as seen on the photos.
They were made in the 1950s by the Westmoreland Glass Company which was based in Pennsylvania and was responsible for 90% of milk glass produced in the United States.
The Cups were found in the Springfield, Virginia Estate of an avid 70+ year collector of Westmoreland Milk Glass. The Collector never used them and had them on display in a curio cabinet.
Each cup measures 3.5 inches Tall x 3.75 inches Wide x 2.875 inches Deep. Each cup weighs approximately 9.23 ounces or 262 grams.
