This is an original Sanrio-licensed Monkichi piggy bank from the 1990s, made from glazed ceramic, which were produced in much smaller quantities and were more likely to break, making it significantly rarer and more desirable. This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs. The glaze is smooth and glossy, the colors are still vibrant, and the character details are crisp and intact. A standout collectible for Sanrio and Monchhichi fans, and a high-quality 1990s Japanese character piece that’s increasingly difficult to source in this condition.
