Vintage Murano Italian Art Hand Blown Glass Speckled Duck Sculpture 1950s/60s

A beautiful, hand blown, sculptural duck, certainly Murano given its style, detail and quality, most likely from the 1950s or 60s, a striking piece. A wonderful duck, clear glass cased, mainly white with deep red portion running from beak to tail, you can clearly see the internal ribbing within the colours on the body, the white has speckles on, which give it a realistic and natural look. The entire duck is covered with sparkling copper aventurine inclusions, which are between the clear and coloured layers, as are variable sized bubbles, as you move around the duck it gives a great sparkle, I have tried to catch it in a video but alas was not sucessful. This great duck is placed upon a lovely knobled base, which is also filled with sparkling copper aventurine inclusions. This piece looks amazing with light glistening off the aventurine filled ribbed glass. The duck is in superb condition, no chips or cracks, odd tiny imperfection since hand blown, a tiny air bubble near surface, spec of copper aventurine etc. these are common quirks in handmade items, not seen, only felt (part of its character). Measures approx. 26.5cm(10 ½")tall, 18.5cm long from beak to tail and 6cm wide on body, the base is about 11.5cm at widest, weight is a heavy 1.57kg. or 2lbs. 15oz.
