Denise Holly Hobbie is an American writer, watercolorist and illustrator. She is best known for creating the character that was originally unnamed but became known as Holly Hobbie. It is an image of a little girl dressed in a bonnet and patchwork dress. The drawing was inspired by Hobbie's childhood memories of growing up in rural Connecticut. Holly Hobbie's illustrations gained particular popularity in the 1970s, but remain beloved by many to this day.
