Campo del Cielo ("Field of the Sky") is a large meteorite crater field in Argentina, created by a meteoroid that broke apart in the atmosphere around 4,000–5,000 years ago, scattering iron meteorites over a 20-square-mile area. The site contains at least 26 craters, with the largest measuring about 115 by 91 meters, and has yielded over 100 tonnes of meteorite fragments, making it one of the most significant meteorite finds on Earth.
