Hand Knit Traditional Norwegian Nisselue Pointed Red Resistance Hat

Hand knit Norwegian nisselue, worn by the nisse (Scandinavian folklore gnome). Historically, a symbol of national unity and non-violent resistance against the Nazi occupation of Norway during WWII. The "Melt the ICE" hat initiative has adopted the nisselue as a symbol of protest, with proceeds from knitting patterns supporting immigrant aid organizations. For each hat purchased, 20% of the proceeds are donated to the Immigrant Defense Network or Haven Watch. Design adapted from Minnesota yarn shop Needle & Skein's "Melt the ICE" pattern on Ravelry.
