Purchased in the 1990’s, this is a vibrant vintage piece from British designer Matthew Williamson, known for his dynamic prints and luxurious textiles. This strapless mini dress embodies his signature use of colour and movement. Crafted in a textured silk-viscose devoré (burnout) fabric, the surface plays with opacity and sheen. Portions of the weave are selectively dissolved to create semi-sheer abstract motifs that float over a satin-soft taupe base. Plum, olive, blush, gold, yellow and inky accents shift beautifully in changing light, creating a dimensional effect.
