This is a 50 year old 14 KT solid gold wedding band that belonged to my sister's mother in law. Selling it now as part of an estate sale (just had the estate appraise this and was told it's 14K solid gold as shown by the 585 number in the stamp (58.5% pure gold), which was common for the Italian markets to stamp the pieces for easy recognition and sale in the North American markets during the 1970's; the appraisal value is $1,500-$1,700, with recommendation to insure at $2,200).
It is a cigar band style ring that was made by Vicenza goldsmith in Italy (a small-to-medium Italian jewelry manufacturer) as identified by the stamps shown in the enlarged photos. The stars preceding numbers or letters are characteristic of Italian gold hallmarks. For this ring, the stamp is ★416 VI (Vicenza) that indicates it was made in the workshop of Pietro Basso, in the gold district of Vicenza, officially hallmarked in the early 1970's. The ring weighs 5.28 g and its diameter is 19 mm (which means a US Size 9)

416 means is 10K right?

Hello, the stamp is ★416 VI (Vicenza) that indicates it was made in the workshop of Pietro Basso, in the gold district of Vicenza. The 585 number in the stamp (to the left of the ★416 VI marking ) shows 58.5% pure gold, which represents 14K, NOT 10K. Thanks!
