1940’s vintage wooden mid-20th-century cedar keepsake or jewelry chest. It is characterized by its rectangular shape, four small feet, and a distinctive English thatched cottage scene on the lid. The box is crafted from solid cedar, valued for its aromatic properties and ability to protect content like jewelry or handkerchiefs. There is a simple brass hinged lid. These were popular gift items in the 1940’s. Condition is great for its age, but does have minor surface scratches on the exterior (be sure to view pictures). I personally think the minor imperfections add to the charm. The inside is in perfect condition. A very cool piece that stands the test of time!
