Vintage Victorian Revival Heart Locket Box Repoussé Pendant Necklace

THE neatest piece I've seen in a month of Sundays! (That's a Southern term--just interpret it literally😉). Listed here is a vintage, Victorian-inspired, VERY large locket BOX pendant necklace. The outer metal is made of tin and/or pot metal that, over time, will develop a beautiful green patina due to the metal's copper content (please see photos above). Because these lockets were meant to hold small, intimate, sentimental items like locks of hair, photos, & miniature portraits (even religious relics, perfume, love letters, and other tokens of affection), the inside of these lockets were lined in pure or sterling silver to protect their beloved contents. The lockets with the hand-crafted repoussé style typically comes from the revival pieces made in Turkey during the 1950's. The detailed rolo chain measures 26" long and will easily fit over the head. A wonderful gift idea (I'm thinking for an engagement ring or other piece of jewelry, a love letter, maybe a family heirloom) or for holding your own priceless keepsakes!
