Vintage Russian carved and hand painted wooden cigarette box with traditional folk art decoration and a three tier interior. The lid and sides feature incised scrollwork, florals, and geometric banding highlighted with hand painted tones of ochre, rust, green, blue, and black beneath a lacquered finish with age crazing. Inside is a three tier slatted wooden mechanism supported by small metal brackets. The tiers lift when opened, allowing cigarettes to be neatly aligned and separated in carved grooves. The underside retains stamped and handwritten markings supporting its vintage origin.
