Vintage Lesco 1960s Lizard Handbag

Classic, timeless black Tegu lizard handbag. Tegu leather becomes more beautiful and more supple as time passes. It is often mistaken for "baby alligator". This purse comes complete with a silky fabric coin purse. Made by Lesco in the 1960s, this style was inspired by the handbags carried by Grace Kelly. Gold tone hardware with a decorative thumb-lift closure that works well and closes tightly. Beautifully aged patina. The handbag opens to a soft vinyl lining with a zippered pocket and an open pocket – very clean! Stamped Lesco. The coin purse is in excellent condition, perhaps never used. There are protective metal feet on the bottom of the bag. Measures approximately 10" long x 8" high x 3" wide. Handle drop is 6". Beautiful vintage condition. The exterior shows signs of use consistent with age. It appears there was a repair on one side of the strap. It’s not noticeable unless you look closely. See photos.
