Santo Domingo Pueblo mosaic inlay earrings, a style of jewelry crafted by Native American artists from the Kewa (formerly Santo Domingo) Pueblo in New Mexico.
Product Details
Design: These earrings feature a mosaic inlay technique where small, precisely cut pieces of turquoise and other materials are laid onto a base, often shell or wood.
Materials: Common materials used in this style include turquoise, mother of pearl shell, and sometimes serpentine or coral.
Artistic Origin: This specific semi-circle or "fan" shape with radiating inlay is characteristic of the Santo Domingo Pueblo.
As you can see, the earrings are not perfectly sized but that makes them unique. The .925 hooks are not the original, I added them.
closet notes - in marked jewelry box
They are from the 1950s or 1960s and were owned by my mother. She owns much Native American jewelry bought in Santa Fe, NM where she currently resides.
