VTG Native American Santo Domingo Kewa Navajo Necklace with Eagle Pendant. Handmade Reconstituted (molded) Turquoise and Shell Graduated Discs. Dates from 1970s. Excellent condition. Clasp is original lobster Claw although you may want to attach a larger ring. But, worked fine for me as is. See photos. Length: 24" Heishi beads graduate from 2mm - 12mm Pendant: 2 inch by 1 inch by 1/4 in Reconstituted Turquoise:How it's made Powdered material: Fine turquoise dust and small stone bits are ground up. Binding agents: Dyes, plastic resins, or epoxy are added to bind the powder. Molding: The mixture is pressed into blocks, often with added minerals like pyrite for a more authentic matrix look, then shaped and polished.
