These star rubies resemble Arrokoth a trans-Neptunian object located in the Kuiper Belt, famously photographed by the New Horizons spacecraft. It is a "contact binary," formed when two separate icy bodies collided at low speed and stuck together, creating a silhouette very similar to the double-stone design of these earrings.
