Doc Martin fit is different, if you’ve never worn them, I would suggest trying a pair on some where first. I normally wear a 7 1/2 to 8 in shoes depending what they are. Here is Doc Martins shoe size chart website. Hope it helps. https://www.drmartens.com/us/en/shoe-size-guide
