Bogoff Purple Rhinestone Screw Back Earrings, Rhodium Plated, 1940s Vintage

*Description: This is a beautiful pair of Bogoff earrings from the 1950s with purple crystal faceted rhinestones on a silver tone rhodium plated base. The clips are signed BOGOFF on the back of each. Jewels by Bogoff was a regular advertiser in leading fashion magazines including Harper's Bazaar and Vogue, and for many years was the country’s third largest costume jewelry manufacturer after Trifari and Coro. Jewels by Bogoff had a wonderful reputation for very high quality jewelry and every piece was guaranteed for life from their company. This would be a great addition to your vintage jewelry collection or make a great vintage gift! Bogoff was in operation from 1946 to 1959. Henry Bogoff was an immigrant from Poland. Earlier in their business their company produced accessories and rhinestone buttons. In 1946, they began to design and manufacture rhinestone jewelry. In magazine advertisements during this time period their jewelry was shared as “Jewels by Bogoff”. During their business, they were successfully competing with Trifari and Coro. Their hallmarks were BOGOFF and JEWELS BY BOGOFF. Their jewelry is usually embellished with small to medium sized rhinestones.
