Adams Staffordshire Yellowstone Park Blue Transferware Souvenir Plate 1910s

Some places deserve to be remembered in blue and white. This antique Adams "Picturesque Yellowstone Park" souvenir plate is the real thing — Old English Staffordshire Ware, made in England, imported specifically for the Yellowstone Park Company, Yellowstone Park Wyoming. Five iconic scenes fill the plate: Morning Glory Pool, Great Falls of the Yellowstone, Old Faithful Geyser, Grotto Geyser Formation, and the Old Faithful Inn, all framed in lush rococo scrollwork and peony borders. The transfer is crisp, the blue is rich and true, and the backstamp is complete and clear. Adams pottery has been made in England since 1657 — one of the oldest names in Staffordshire ceramics. Circa 1910, distributed by Jonroth importer. Pieces made specifically for the Yellowstone Park Company are increasingly hard to find in this condition. Measures 7.5 inches in diameter. No crazing, no hairline cracks, no chips. Mint condition throughout.
