From the Molodechno Factory of Artistic Products in Belarus — this 1996 handmade straw folk art doll is a rare and beautiful find. Matulya means Mother in Belarusian. Holds a swaddled baby in red floral fabric. Natural straw body, painted wooden head, hand-braided straw updo, traditional Belarusian embroidered trim in red, black, and white geometric patterns. Original factory tags intact front and back. 7" tall. Excellent condition throughout.
